How to Treat Your Child’s Fever

It can be quite alarming for parents to see their child have a fever, especially if they’re first-time parents. However, medical professionals have stated that infants aged 6 months and older do not need immediate medical attention unless they show great discomfort. Fever among infants is usually caused by infections, immunization, and even overdressing.

When a fever breaks out, it is important to keep constant monitoring on your child, so you’ll know to call for professional help, but while the symptoms are not yet severe, here are some things you can do to help ease what they feel:

  • Regulate the room temperature and make arrangements so your child can be cool and comfortable.
  • Have them dressed up in light clothing.
  • Ensure that they constantly drink fluids to avoid dehydration.
  • Prevent them from doing any activity that requires too much effort.

If symptoms persist and your child still feels uncomfortable, we have affordable medications in Florida that could help them feel better: Your child’s fever could be alleviated with Acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Acetaminophen can be in the form of either liquids or pills while Ibuprofen is given to infants in liquid form.
